Mega Matte Lipsticks* & Long Lash Mascara* | Seventeen Review + Swatches!

Upon becoming a member of the Seventeen Blogger Network (you can apply here!), I was kindly sent over a package of goodies by Louise to try out and share my thoughts with you!

I was absolutely over the moon when I found 2 new releases from Seventeen's collection, in this package - the Mega Matte Lipsticks* and the Long Lash Mascara*.

Mega Matte Lipsticks*

As you may well know, I - along with the rest of the beauty blogging world and beyond - have been obsessed with matte lips recently (primarily liquid lippies) however I had never tried one out in solid lipstick form. That being said, I was extremely excited to try these two shades of Seventeen editions!

The shades I was sent were I Lilac It A Lot* and Rioja Your World*! I would like to point out I'm a big fan of the punny names - they really stand out compared to other drugstore brands.

I Lilac It A Lot* is a futuristic, lilac colour - totally unicorn worthy - and although it isn't a shade I would usually reach for, I've been loving this icy hue and it seems to compliment my pale complexion like a dream. On the other hand, Rioja Your World* is the autumn lip. It screams vamped up, berries and wine tones - I love it!

Overall, I would recommend these lippies because aside from the price (£4.49 - steal!), the shade range is extensive - from soft nudes, daring corals to out-there pinks and vampy reds - and the formula is incredible; high pigmentation, hardly drying and unbeatable lasting power...a definite recommend!

Long Lash Mascara*

To add to my sizeable collection of mascaras (I think I have a problem!), I was also sent the widely anticipated Long Lash mascara, and I was excited to see how it would weigh up compared to the rest of my stash! Personally, when I look for mascaras, I prefer lengthening and curling ones - I'm not too bothered about volume - I really like the look of light and fluttery lashes.

I'm a self-confessed packaging minimalist, so the sleek, glossy black case satisfied my obsession. Although the tube is long, it's actually very thin, making it ideal for travel, I would imagine! As you can see, the wand in question is slim, capturing "even the tiniest lashes, coating from root to tip"! It's perfect for the lower lash line especially, but it works just as well on the top lashes too. One thing I would say about this mascara is that if you like applying 2 coats, avoid this. It tends to clump when built up, but for me (who likes a natural look) this is no problem.

Overall, I would give both products 4/5 as the lipstick can be hard to apply, and the mascara has a tendency to clump, but apart from that I would highly recommend you add these to your basket on your next Boots splurge!

*The before mentioned products were sent for reviewing purposes, however all opinions are my own.

  7. Lipsticks are super hard to apply for me. So I probably won't be purchasing the lip sticks, though they are gorgeous shades. I love the mascara though. I like the packaging too! Lovely post! xx
