THE SKINCARE SPONGE CHANGING THE GAME | FT. THE KONJAC SPONGE CO.*

Ever heard of konjac sponges?

I hadn't either until I stumbled across The Konjac Sponge Company over at Socialberry

100% vegan and cruelty free, TKCS are introducing the ancient Japanese use of Konnyaku to the western market one sponge at a time.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE SPONGE

There's a whole lotta science behind the humble sponge, so let's keep it simple. ''A natural food source, Konjac is 97% water, rich in mineral goodness and low in calories''. The lil' sponge is also pH neutral, so it never messes up your skin chemistry. The plant fibre that makes up the sponge is mixed into it with natural watered filtered through volcanic rock...pretty impressive amirite?

THE ETHOS

As well as the konjac being totally pure and ethical, the brand carries the Leaping Bunny and Vegan Society symbols with pride - and so they should! These skin warriors are biodegradable and safe for the environment. I've recently become a lot more interested in investing in products with minimal impact on the planet, so TKCS ticks e'ry box for me.

THE REVIEW

As the colder nights draw in (hello October!) my skin tends to become dull and rather tired, thanks to the combination of early mornings and frosty weather.

My konjac sponge never fails me! With added French Pink Clay, it's guaranteed to give a glow from within, gently cleansing and exfoliating your skin.

It's such a quick 'n' easy alternative to a facial wash in the mornings - it will make a cleanser go further, but it's also a-okay on it's own.
